Our first pack of plant based cheese! Artisa was created in Tasmania by Julie Martyn, a passionate foodie who has been vegetarian or vegan for half of her life. Artisa offer a high quality selection of plan based cheese that showcases the unique vegan friendly Tasmanian ingredients and flavours that they love.

This pack has four cheeses selected by Artisa that is in season and at its best.

Who is Artisa Cheese?

From the beautiful food-enriched state that is Tasmania comes Artisa. Created by Julie Martyn, a passionate foodie who has been vegetarian or vegan for half of her life. Julie is also a trained molecular biologist and works with her partner, Roger, who has many years experience running businesses and a keen interest in the argonomic aspects of food for good health. Julie and Roger work together to offer a high quality plant-based cheese that showcases the unique vegan friendly Tasmanian ingredients and flavours that they love. Inspired by traditional cheesemaking, they are forging thier own path in plant-based cheese production.

What are the cheeses*?

SOFT: The Derwent
Milk   |  Vegan

The Derwent is a creamy white, chevré style cashew cheese, dusted in fennel pollen. The mild fennel flavour of this cheese is floral and slightly sweet. The texture is reminiscent of the chevré style that inspired it.

HARD: Gladstone
Milk   |  Vegan

Artisa’s Gladstone is an exciting cheddar style cashew based cheese with creamy white texture and a natural, golden rind. The cheese is cold smoked in Tasmanian applewood, which really enhances the nuttiness of the cheese and also adds a slight fruit note that is balanced with some lactic acidity.

HARD: Tasman Black
Milk   |  Vegan

Tasman Black is a cheddar style cashew cheese that is marbled with Tasmanian black garlic - a match made in Heaven! The savoury, umami richness of the garlic develops as it cures and really complements the cashew cheese so well. The texture is firm but creamy and makes for the perfect after dinner treat!

Soft: Freycinet
Milk   |  Vegan

Freycinet is a cashew based cheese that is rolled in a blend of native Tasmanian botanical, such as kunzea, pepperberry leaf (for warmth) and saltbush (for a salty tang). The paste is creamy white in appearance and has a firm, sliceable texture. The delicate herbaceous flavour complements the lactic tang of the cheese.

 

Add on The Grazing Box

The Grazing Box includes four great artisan products to add more life to your cheeseboard. Each item has been specially selected to complement each of the cheeses and support four small artisan makers. In the Grazing Box there is:

    • Marinated Baby Figs 

    • Handmade, artisan chocolate

    • Small batch pastes
